The week I didn't know what to write

For the last few days I have been pondering - what do I write in this week's newsletter to you all? Day after day I've been coming up blank. Then, it dawned on me - NOT knowing what to write is exactly what I need to write about.

This "writer's block" led me to two powerful "ah ha" moments ...

(1) It led me to get accurate about my current sources of inspiration. I realized that my inspiration gas tank was on E, and the gas light was on. So empty that I was running on fumes. Can anyone relate?

I reached a space of depletion over the past week, and lost sight of the critical importance of filling myself up with inspiration. Only I can fill that tank back up. So, I am getting on the court. This week I am setting agreements with my business partner, family and husband to carve out non-negotiable time to breathe in new sources of inspiration. I have a documentary I intend to watch, I have a workout scheduled for 1pm today, and my husband and I are going out Friday night for a covid-friendly dinner.

(2) Initially, I thought the reason I couldn't find anything to write about was because I was tired. Then I slowed down and got accurate; it is not that I'm tired - I get at least eight hours of sleep a night - it's that my THINKING is tired. I am overloading the system with "to do" lists, and articles, and meetings, and content. So much so that my THINKING is tired. So, I am getting on the court with this too - I am driving with the radio off, I am reading a book of FICTION before bed, I am going to take my 4-mile walk without music or podcast. I am going to let the silence rejuvenate me.

Now I challenge you to get on the court with me...

What's the current reading on your inspiration gas tank? If it is reading E, what is one action you can take to refuel this week?

In the past 7 - 10 days have you at any point said something like "I am so tired"? If so - slow it down, and consider that perhaps you are not tired, your thinking is tired.

Courage always,
